ROMA!

Rome... home of the Pope. Looking back on our itinerary choices, we realize we might have skipped Rome had we thought about it. Not particularly known as a popular gay honeymoon destination :) But important to see at one point or another, so since we were in the vicinity, why not right?

We made stops at the major tourist attractions. Spanish steps, the Coliseum, the Roman Forum, the Trevi fountain, the Pantheon, yada yada yada, and of course the Vatican. We paid a visit to the home of the Catholic church and didn't spontaneously burst into flames, so we figured Jesus still loves us, even if we're two married women ;-) We brought the Ellen cutout with us too, just for good measure :)

As far as Italian cities go, there is obviously so much history in Rome, but perhaps it lacks the soul we felt in all the other places we visited. That being said, glad we went and saw it. The Sistine Chapel was nice, but really, our lives are not better or fuller having seen the ceilings. Not sure what all the hoopla is about... You can see a rogue photo we got while we were in there being watched by Vatican security... hehe... suckas!

Our "last supper" was at a Mozzarella Bar. Yes. A Mozzarella bar :)
Superb Burrata! Delicious Tuscan prosciutto! And divine eggplant parmigiano!

A perfect way to say goodbye!

Ciao Roma!
