PRAGUE

We arrived by train and the scenery was beautiful. The Czech countryside was as lovely as the city's architecture.

Upon arrival we haggled with some dodgy looking cabbies... Mavreen found a Czech man who spoke french and he helped us find a decent (but still overpriced) ride to our hotel. Thank goodness for nice people...

Our hotel is awesome. Huge room. Comfy bed. Good location. Happy campers (Shauna:-)

Mavreen has been sick as a dog. Hacking up a lung and now a runny nose that just won't stop! Poor baby :( But she's been sticking it out as best she can... And Shauna's been taking great care of her :)

We visited Prague Castle and got a wonderful view overlooking the city. The most moving visit though, was of the Jewish Quarter where we saw the oldest Synagogue in Europe as well as an exhibit in the Pinkas Synagogue of children's drawings from Terezin, a concentration camp just outside of Prague. Was a very profound collection. The Pinkas Synagogue had the list of family names of the deceased on its walls... we found Gold quite easily...

Mavreen was too sick to battle the cold any longer. We're going to snuggle and watch a movie...

So glad we got to see even just a bit of this city as it is truly an architectural gem. The people aren't particularly warm though, so we have our sights set on Italy ;-)

Off to Vienna tomorrow!

Night.
